The SWC Bulletin has been the only local news publication serving our communities since 1958. Our news and special sections are intensely local. We are very involved with our communities including involvement in the Cottage Grove Area Chamber of Commerce and community festivals.

South Washington County is posed for strong growth over the next decade. The biggest project slated is the redevelopment of the Wakota Bridge and Highway 61 corridor. Continued debate on the level of growth, both residential and commercial, dominates the local headlines.

Our communities run along the Mississippi River offering plenty of boating and fishing opportunities. Many parks in the area offer our residents recreational opportunities including camping. Residents can play golf at both 18 hole championship courses and par 3 courses. Winter offers the snowmobiler a chance to get out on the many county maintained trails. Afton Alps Ski Area serves as on of the biggest ski areas in the Twin Cities area.
