The New Richmond News serves the 7,800 residents of New Richmond, Wis., and the nearby communities of Somerset, Star Prairie, Hammond, Roberts and Deer Park.

The newspaper has won numerous editorial and advertising awards, including several general excellence awards. The News also publishes the Scotsman, a weekend shopper with a circulation of 13,114, delivered via the U.S. Postal Service and private carriers each Saturday. The staff also produces a variety of special publications through the year including a community guide, area map, "Heroes" edition which features area EMS and fire volunteers and popular graduation and county fair sections.

Known as "The City Beautiful", New Richmond is located about 40 miles east of St. Paul on the Willow River. Many residents work in the Twin Cities or its surrounding suburbs, but escape to Wisconsin for New Richmond's small town setting with big city services. New Richmond boasts one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the state. Residents also enjoy bike and walking trails, a full-service community center and more than 20 city parks.
