The Jamestown Sun is a 7,134-circulation daily newspaper serving Jamestown and the surrounding communities of south-central North Dakota. It is the state's oldest newspaper, with 50 employees. It includes an agricultural special section that reaches 22,500 homes each Saturday. In addition, the Sun delivers a midweek stand-alone shopper "The Prairie Post" to more than 18,000 homes.

Jamestown, population 15,600, is the Stutsman County seat and home to the National Buffalo Museum which features The World's Largest Buffalo and "White cloud," a rare albino buffalo. Jamestown College, a highly regarded private liberal arts institution and the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame are also located in Jamestown. Jamestown is centrally located between Fargo and Bismarck, ND. Known as the "Pride of the Prairie," Jamestown offers a plethora of recreational opportunities, including fishing, waterfowl and big game hunting, camping, boating, snowmobiling and golfing.
