William C. Marcil, Chairman
William Marcil began his newspaper career in 1961 at The Forum as a retail advertising salesman,followed by classified advertising manager, promotion direction, production manager, and assistant to the publisher. He became President and Publisher in 1969 upon death of his father-in-law, Norman D. Black, Jr., continuing the fourth generation of family ownership.
Bill Marcil Jr., President, CEO and Publisher
Bill Marcil is the fifth generation of his family to be publisher of The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead. He also became president and CEO of Forum Communications Co. in 2014 when former President and CEO Lloyd Case retired after 32 years with the company. Bill was previously named chief operating officer of Forum Communications Co. in December 2012. Bill has worked at the newspaper more than 20 years in various departments. He was named publisher in 2010 when his father stepped down after 43 years as publisher. Bill also sits on the board of directors of Forum Communications Co., the Forum Communications Foundation and the William and Jane Marcil Family Foundation. He is active on numerous boards and committees.
Paul Amundson, Vice President Digital
Paul Amundson has spent his entire career with Forum Communications Company. He started in the broadcast news division in 1987 working at WDAZ-TV in Grand Forks, ND. He came to Fargo in 1996 to work on the Internet products as online manager. He was appointed Interactive Vice President in 2009. In 2011 he also assumed management of the IT department and in 2012 he helped organize and manage the company’s multi-media advertising operations unit which handles ad placement, reporting and sales automation; and also corporate creative services.
The digital division is responsible for creation and management of FCC’s multi-media publishing and content management systems, online ad verticals, social platform, and many other digital initiatives requiring strategic planning and technical development. The division also provides corporate planning and support for IT systems, software applications and network management.
John Hajostek, Vice President Finance and CFO
John Hajostek grew up in Moorhead, MN. Hajostek joined FCC in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. Hajostek worked for W.W. Wallwork, Inc., Fargo, from 1985 to 1996, where he was Controller. From 1996 to 2002, he was Corporate Controller for Transwest, Inc., a group of truck and trailer dealerships in Denver and the Rocky Mountain Region.
Dennis Hall, Vice President Commercial Printing
Dennis Hall has spent his entire professional career in Newspaper Publishing and Commercial Printing. Throughout the course of thirty-five years, he has worked in nine different newspaper markets in the upper Midwest. He has been active in the Inland Press Association, Minnesota Newspaper Association and Wisconsin Newspaper Association. Prior to being named Director of Operations for Forum Communications Printing (FCP), he held the position of Publisher of the Worthington Daily Globe and Director of Daily Newspapers for Forum Communications Company.
Roz Randorf, Vice President Advertising
Roz Randorf, named Vice President of Advertising, March, 2014. She is responsible for leading sales strategy and product positioning to help drive revenue programs. Over the last twenty three years, she has held a number of advertising roles, including leading sales through her work as Advertising Director at the Duluth News Tribune, a Forum Communications owned newspaper in Duluth, MN. In her new role, Roz will build strategic adverting solutions, and position the sales staffs to be multi-media sales leaders. Randorf joined The Forum Newspaper in 1990 where she began as a classified advertising sales representative and has worked her way through the advertising department.
Kate Freimanis, Director of Human Resources
Kate Freimanis joined Forum Communications Company in 2002. Kate oversees Human Resources for Forum Communications Company. She has a Masters in Public Administration/Human Resources.
Mary Jo Hotzler, Director of Content Services
Mary Jo Hotzler joined Forum Communications Company in November 2001 as a reporter for The Forum. She was named Director of the Content Services Division in April 2014. She is a graduate of the University of SD. She is responsible for overseeing the Forum News Service, the Video Department and the Content Operations Department. She also acts as the liaison to FCC newsrooms and to provide support on content issues and newsroom best practices.
Matt McMillan, Director of Newspapers
Matt McMillan joined Forum Communications Company in February 2014. He oversees the publishers and general managers of the more than 35 daily and weekly newspapers in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Matt has been and active publisher at Minnesota newspapers for the past 25 years. His industry involvement includes serving on Minnesota Newspaper Association committees, board of directors and as MNA president. He has also participated in training from the American Press Institute, Blandin Editor & Publisher program, Inland Press Association and National Newspaper Association. He is a native of St. Cloud, Minn.
Mari Ossenfort, Director of Broadcast
Mari Ossenfort joined Forum Communications Company in November 2013. She grew up in Fargo and has been active in the broadcast industry for the last 20 years. Prior to becoming FCC’s Director of Broadcasting Mari was the general manager and general sales manager for a Sioux Falls, SD TV station.
