WDAY TV6 began broadcasting on June 1, 1953 and has been serving the
area with the oldest call letters in the Northwest, as the ABC affiliate
for the Red River Valley. WDAY TV6 works everyday to live up to its
commitment to news, weather and sports making WDAY TV6 "Your News
Leader". WDAY TV6 produces 23 live local newscasts each week. Owning the
only satellite truck, "LiveStar", in the area is proof to viewers that
we have the commitment to cover regional news and sports like no other
station in the market. WDAY TV6 has enjoyed a long history with North
Dakota State University athletics including producing coaches' shows
during the University's football and basketball season which are
televised weekly on WDAY TV6, WDAZ TV8, KBMY TV and KMCY TV. WDAY TV6
continues to make a commitment to the region's high school sports each
year by televising the Minnesota State High School Basketball regional
games.
970 WDAY AM Radio, "Fargo's First Radio", first signed on the air in
1922. With its' NewsTalk format, 970 WDAY, offers local news, weather
and sports,mixed with local, regional and national opinion talk shows.
If it's going on in the Red River Valley, listeners will be given the
opportunity to talk about it on these or other locally produced talk
shows. 970 WDAY is home to ABC Radio Network News, WDAY TV's 5, 6 and
10PM newscasts and provides the latest on the weather with WDAY "Storm
Tracker" Meteorologists providing information throughout the day, every
day.
970 WDAY sports is the leader in local sports action. WDAY Radio is the
Broadcast Voice of the NDSU Bison. All football, and men's and women's
basketball games along with the weekly coach's shows are broadcast live
on 970 WDAY. Local high school football, basketball or hockey action is
also broadcast weekly on 970, with the "High School Game of the Week".
WDAY Radio is the radio home of the area's #1 sports attraction, the F-M
RedHawks! The Northern League baseball game broadcasts can be heard live
on 970 WDAY, home and away.
The Fargo-Moorhead area has been named by several publications as on of
the best places to live and raise a family. Fargo is the county seat of
Cass County and hub to an array of industries. The area includes three
universities and two progressive hospitals with a thriving business
community and a strong agricultural economy. There are several
galleries, museums, sporting events, parks, golf courses and trails for
bike riders and cross-country skiers. Fargo also hosts several concerts
each year.
