Agweek was born in 1985 as a publication that would appeal to farm business people and local grain elevators by covering market trends from around the world and in producers’ own backyards. Farm readers soon realized that Agweek provided in-depth and insightful analysis of issues and trends that would affect them. It became an important part of their decision making. Farm advertisers realized the potential of this new magazine, as well, and used it to reach customers on farms and ranches across the Northern Plains. Agweek’s success has been proven by imitators — but while there are many farm publications, there is only one Agweek. Agweek reporters talk to the big name newsmakers and to the people working the fields and tending the livestock.
