The popular event, which has quickly become something FCC employees look forward to each year, is CEO Bill Marcil Jr.’s thank you to employees and their families, said organizer Allison Leslie.
This year’s attendance increased to 306, 96 of whom were children.
Leslie said that although initially it looked as if the weather wasn’t going to cooperate, the rain held off, and FCC employees and their families from The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, Forum Communications Printing-Fargo and WDAY TV and WDAY AM 907 were treated to a summer evening at the zoo free of charge, in addition to free food, free carousel rides and grab bags for children.
“We were a bit worried as to how the weather would hold out, but the sun peeked through, and it ended up being a gorgeous night, filled with food, laughter, children, animals and fun!” Leslie said. “We thank the Red River Zoo for allowing Forum Communications to host our annual family party at their wonderful facility.”
Special to this year’s event, attendees were introduced to one of the zoo’s newest red pandas and they got to experience what it is like to be a river otter by entering an indoor “otters den.” From there, they got to watch otters frolic on land and in the water.
The Forum, Forum Communications Printing-Fargo and WDAY TV and WDAY AM 907 are all owned by Forum Communications Co. Forum Communications is a multimedia information company based in Fargo, and owns dozens of newspapers, websites and television and radio stations, and commercial printing plants in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
