FARGO, N.D. – Movie star Kristin Rudrud made a surprise appearance at Forum Communications Co. headquarters Tuesday to be the guest judge of the building’s third annual Pajamas Day contest.
CEO and President Bill Marcil Jr. invited Rudrud to judge the winners of categories such as “Most Creative” and “Most Interesting.”
Rudrud, who was born in Fargo, has starred in movies such as “Fargo,” “Pleasantville” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous.”
On Pajama Day, Forum and FCC employees get to come to work dressed in their relaxing pajamas and vie for prizes for the best PJ ensembles. Marcil held the first Pajama Day three years ago after joking to his father Bill Marcil Sr. then when he took the helm of the company he was going to celebrate by coming to work in his pajamas. He held true on his promise, and asked the rest of the building to join in the fun with him. Now the day has become an annual tradition.
Kali Hanson, dressed in “grunge pajamas” complete with a duct tape-encased pillow, received the Most Creative Pajamas award. And Caleb Fugleberg received the Most Interesting Pajamas award for his ensemble that was completed with an iPod playing children’s lullabies.
The Forum News Services’ Tracy Briggs received a special award from RudRud herself. Briggs received an autographed DVD of Fargo for having the “cutest pajamas to go out in the snow.”
The JobHQ gang receive the the Best Group Effort award fro dressing as zombies wearing pajamas. Participating were Sheila Stastny, Kerry Berg, Verna Mikkelson, Laura Raschke, Anne Malvin, Christine Roberts and Lisa Tillotson.
The entire building was also treated to a buffet lunch from Qdoba in the building’s new Mezzanine level employee break room.
“Pajama Day is a chance for everyone to let loose and have some fun!” said event organizer Allison Leslie. “Life can be so structured and we loose sight of the fun things in life. We all need good food and crazy laughter once in a while! It’s good for all employees that work for Forum Communications Co.”
